My UX Process

The UX task:
Based on the existing application -- which had already begun the coding process -- I was tasked with fixing and improving the user experience of a warehouse management system.

The problem to solve:
The application needed to be so easy to use that a warehouse worker could simply walk up to a mounted tablet, login and input information to start or finish work. The application was currently very difficult to learn, and these workers were mostly non-savvy computer users.

My solution:
My take on the situation, after interviews and analyzing the current system in place, was to make this app feel and work like a bank ATM kiosk.

Based on the idea that almost everyone uses a bank ATM, I researched several of them, and used that data as the basis for my design flow. This allowed for my design to be completely self-explanatory to the user, even if it was their first time ever logging in to the application.
